Skill at Arms

Skills at arms is an optional item at any event and will only be offered if 50%+ of participants indicate prior to the event they would like to participate. This excludes the SA championship, where the item is not on offer.

Weapon: Pricker (Seniors and Juniors)/Revolver (Seniors), Sword and Lance

Senior/Junior: Both

Number of runs: 1 run

Number of riders: 1 rider

Targets per run: 2 x balloons, 2 x 60cm jumps, 1 x heart, 2 x 50mm in diameter ring and 1 x 60mm Peg per rider

Points per run: 3 points for each balloon, 3 points per jump, 6 points for the heart, 6 points for each ring, 6 for the peg and 3 for style (42 points in total)

Speed per run: 45 seconds for seniors and masters and 50 seconds for juniors

Skill at arms comprises of 3 legs and is rode in a “Z” formation.

First Leg: Two jumps & Two Balloons

Rider uses a Pricker (Seniors and Juniors)/ or Revolver (Seniors Only)

Second Leg: One heart hung on a straw bag

Rider uses a sword

Third Leg: Two Rings and One Peg
